The GFC and economic downturn will have significant ramifications for software suppliers and customers and their essentially intangible products and services. What are the rights and obligations of the parties and how can they protect their respective positions if one of them becomes insolvent. This seminar will examine the key contractual and industry issues in the context of the Corporations Act insolvency regime.

Michael Sneddon, General Counsel

Michael Sneddon is the General Counsel of Oakton, a major ASX listed IT consulting services provider that has over 1200 consultants. After more than 20 years in private practice, specialising in both insolvency and IT law, acting for both IT suppliers and customers (and in particular Federal and State Governments) Michael joined Oakton in 2005 as its General Counsel. With a broad career in both private practice and inhouse roles, Michael brings a unique perspective into the legal issues facing the IT sector in the current economic climate. Michael is also the Secretary of the VSCL and a long standing member of the Law Council of Australia Insolvency and Reconstruction Committee.
