IceTV v Nine Network: the IceGuide story from the inside

Precis: Peter Vogel was Chief Technology Officer at IceTV from 2003 to 2006. At IceTV, Peter developed the "IceGuide", the electronic program guide which was central to the recent High Court copyright dispute between IceTV and the Nine Network. Since leaving IceTV, Peter has continued to blog about the case at http://vogelross.com.au/vrblog/. Peter will discuss the history of IceTV, the development of the IceGuide and his experiences in the ensuing litigation.

VSCL will be following up with a seminar presented by Mr Warwick Rothnie on a legal analysis of the High Court decision in the IceTV case on Wednesday 10 June, details TBC.

ALRC Review of Royal Commissions - Discussion regarding submissions

The Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) is conducting a review of the conduct of royal commissions established under the Royal Commissions Act 1902 (Cth), and whether an alternative form of inquiry should be established.
